There were a lot of different animals and my little one loved the free roaming peacocks and chicken. Arrives around 11:30am, the parking lot was semi-full, but the space is large enough to social distance easily. Even though I applied it a few times (I only had brought water resistant 30 spf), I still burned. Lastly, SUNSCREEN is a MUST! 1Million % recommend a high protection sunblock applied multiple times. I recommend that anyone going on this trip bring your own water shoes or shoes that will work inside the water because you cannot count on them being there even if you pay well in advance for them. So, 4 stars because your business led me to believe that I would have the water shoes that I paid in advance and were not available when I got there. But, NO this did not help me at all when I actually needed the shoes. I would have purchased and brought my own if I knew they weren’t going to be in stock. There are rocks all throughout the river and it will be shallow one minute and deeper the next. Water shoes are a MUST if you are getting out of the tube, which is more than likely going to happen at some point. I fell out the tube at one point and also swam and walked a bit and cut my foot. There were none in stock that fit my feet.

My only complaint is that I purchased Water Shoes from the business well in advance and expected them to be there when I arrived and they were not. It was definitely a workout at times being connected to others in my party. I definitely enjoyed going on the tubing adventure! The river was slow and it took 5 1/2 hours to get from the start to the exit ramp. By the time we left the visitor's center, several more people had arrived. We visited on a Tuesday morning and there weren't a lot of people. I like historical places of interest and this was a good visit to part of our nation's history.Īt the visitor's center, there is a vending machine for drinks, restrooms and picnic tables. We tried a couple stops, but we didn't get good enough cell phone coverage to be able to hear about the sites. There is a self guided motor tour to different sections of the battlefield and surrounding area, that is about 10 miles. Our tour guide was informative and provided a good picture of the history of the battlefield and the Harper house. However, we did get a tour of the grounds and outbuilding. Unfortunately, the Harper house was closed for restoration work. We stopped in the visitor's center, looked around and watched a 15 minute movie about the history leading up to the battle. I was unaware of the large battle that took place here. We visited Bentonville Battlefield State Park in North Carolina. Sorry my experience was not even mediocre and won’t be returning. Good luck in the scavenger hunt for that one. Anyway, military discount is ONLY offered in stores where there is a patriotic star displayed. I asked in the aforementioned store and it was like I had just cussed at her. Signage around the mall area states military discount……. So let the exploitation of the masses commence. None of these stores offer any real discount, definitely a ploy because of shortage of good high quality shopping areas. Amazon sells exact same items cheaper and without Samba (my bad for not forward planning). Prices misleading and not displayed very well. I made my purchases more out of necessity (quick baby gift). In my head….Yes, the volume button for this racket over the speakers!! Staff were disinterested except for the obligatory ‘can I help you find anything’. We travelled down from Virginia and stopped off at this mall to pick up some items from the Carter children’s store. Love this place! Breathe fresh air not pesticides! There is a creek in the woods so dogs can quench their thirst there if you forgot water. We need more (or all) lawns to be natural to support our wildlife.

It doesn’t grow long so you don’t have to mow as often if at all. If you look closely, the grass has wild clover mixed in which is a native flower and feeds rabbits and other wildlife plus it’s drought resistant and stays green all summer long. Not only the wild environment looks absolutely stunning but it also supports bees and other insects. What I especially love is that the grass is all natural (not an urban desert like many people’s lawns) and they have wild flowers planted throughout the area. Gorgeous place! We usually go there to walk outside and there is lots of space to spread out from other people.
